Five Nights at Epsteins — Night Guide

A complete night-by-night walkthrough for Five Nights at Epsteins. From the introductory Night 1 to the chaos of 20/20/20/20 Custom Night — learn what to expect, how to survive, and what kills most players.

Night 1

Facing Epstein

Active Enemies

  • Epstein
  • FC

New Mechanics

  • Camera System
  • Audio Lure
  • Window Reaction (E key)

Strategy

Night 1 in Five Nights at Epsteins is your training ground. Epstein starts at Camera 11 and will begin moving toward your office. Your primary tool is the audio lure — when Epstein moves away from Camera 11 to another camera, switch back to Camera 11 (or a nearby camera) and play audio. He has an 85% chance of returning to the camera where the sound was played. The critical rule: do not spam audio on the same camera. Epstein will not return to the same camera more than twice, so prepare at least 2-3 rotation points. Using audio 3 times consecutively on one camera will also cause a Camera Error, forcing you to the Control Panel for a restart. FC is also active on Night 1 but is lower priority. He responds to audio cues and can be managed alongside Epstein. Focus on learning the 11-camera layout and Epstein's movement rhythm.

Common Death Causes

  • Not placing audio on a camera near Epstein — audio only works on nearby cameras.
  • Spamming audio on the same camera until it overloads.
  • Missing Epstein at the window — you have only 0.5 seconds to press E.
Night 2

Trump Enters the Vents

Active Enemies

  • Epstein
  • FC
  • Trump

New Mechanics

  • Vent Management
  • Audio Cues (headphones recommended)

Strategy

Night 2 introduces Trump, who is the only enemy in Five Nights at Epsteins that attacks through the ventilation system connected to Camera 1 and Camera 2. Trump starts at Camera 9. The mechanic is audio-driven: when Trump enters the vents, you will hear a distinct banging or knocking sound. The moment you hear it, go to the Control Panel and close the vent immediately. After a few seconds, a second round of banging indicates he has left — reopen the vent right away. The fatal mistake is keeping vents closed too long. Your oxygen depletes rapidly when vents are sealed. Think of it as a quick close-reopen rhythm, never a permanent seal. Trump can also be influenced by audio lures, but your primary audio lure priority should remain on Epstein. Keep Epstein under control first, then handle Trump's vent attacks reactively.

Common Death Causes

  • Not hearing the vent knocking — use headphones.
  • Keeping vents closed too long and suffocating.
  • Focusing too much on Trump and losing track of Epstein.
Night 3

Stephen Hawking Joins

Active Enemies

  • Epstein
  • FC
  • Trump
  • Stephen Hawking

New Mechanics

  • Electrocution at Camera 6

Strategy

Night 3 is where Five Nights at Epsteins gets truly challenging, adding Stephen Hawking to the threat roster. Hawking is stationed at Camera 6 and is completely immune to audio lures — the only counter is periodic electrocution through the camera interface. If you forget to electrocute Hawking, he will leave Camera 6 and eliminate you without warning. The most practical habit is: every time you finish dealing with Epstein or Trump, immediately check Camera 6 and administer a shock. He does not need constant attention — just regular check-ins every 15-20 seconds. This night introduces true multi-tasking. You now have three simultaneous management loops: 1. Audio lure rotation for Epstein (primary focus) 2. Vent listen-close-reopen for Trump (reactive) 3. Periodic Camera 6 electrocution for Hawking (scheduled task) Build this into muscle memory: handle Epstein → check vents → shock Hawking → repeat.

Common Death Causes

  • Forgetting about Hawking entirely while managing Epstein and Trump.
  • Not building electrocution into a regular check cycle.
  • Getting overwhelmed by three threats and freezing up.
Night 4 & 5

Full Chaos

Active Enemies

  • All enemies at maximum aggression

New Mechanics

  • Increased system failures
  • Faster oxygen depletion
  • Faster enemy movement

Strategy

Nights 4 and 5 in Five Nights at Epsteins are pure endurance tests. All enemies are active with drastically increased speed and aggression. System failures are constant, and oxygen depletes faster when you close vents or spend too long on cameras. The gameplay shifts from "react to what you see" to "follow a fixed check routine." A proven rotation cycle: 1. Check vent status — is Trump knocking? Handle immediately. 2. Locate Epstein — which camera is he on? Deploy audio lure if needed. 3. Camera 6 — shock Hawking. 4. Control Panel — fix any broken cameras. 5. Repeat from step 1. The key insight: do not linger on any single camera. Quick sweeps keep oxygen higher and reduce the chance of missing a vent signal. Spending too long staring at one feed is the number one killer in the late game. Note: as of v1.1.5, cameras break less often in later nights and enemy movement speed is slightly reduced compared to earlier versions.

Common Death Causes

  • Lingering too long on cameras and depleting oxygen.
  • Breaking check rhythm when a camera fails.
  • Panic-spamming audio lures and causing cascading Camera Errors.
Night 6

The Encore

Active Enemies

  • All enemies — Epstein even more aggressive

New Mechanics

  • Decodable audio ending

Strategy

Night 6 is a bonus night added in the v1.2 update. Epstein's behavior becomes more unpredictable and aggressive. The same strategies from Night 4-5 apply, but with tighter margins. The most notable addition is the decodable audio at the ending of Night 6. Players in the community have been analyzing this audio for hidden messages, which may be connected to a secret ending. If you are interested in lore, record the ending audio and try running it through a spectrogram.

Common Death Causes

  • Underestimating Epstein's increased aggression.
  • Using the same strategies as Night 5 without tightening your check cycle.
Custom Night

20/20/20/20 Mode & Secret Ending

Active Enemies

  • Configurable per enemy

New Mechanics

  • Individual enemy difficulty sliders
  • 3rd completion star

Strategy

Custom Night was introduced in the v1.2 update of Five Nights at Epsteins, replacing the original Ultimate Night mode. It allows you to set difficulty levels for each enemy individually, making it an excellent training tool. Recommended training progression: 1. Solo Trump (max difficulty): Practice the listen-close-reopen vent rhythm until it becomes automatic. 2. Solo Hawking (max difficulty): Practice electrocution timing — learn how long you can wait before he starts moving. 3. Epstein + FC: Practice audio lure rotation with multiple enemies. 4. All enemies: Combine everything for the full multi-tasking experience. The 20/20/20/20 mode — all enemies at maximum difficulty — is the ultimate challenge. Beating it unlocks the 3rd completion star. There is also a secret ending tied to this mode that the community is still working to decode.

Common Death Causes

  • Attempting 20/20/20/20 without mastering each enemy individually first.
  • Not having a practiced check routine — raw reaction speed is not enough at max difficulty.
